It's All About Numbers

Phew!

After my entire 2014 Blogging Mission, I had to take a little break and disappear off the Web-iverse for a while. I know you missed me, so I'm happy to report I AM BACK!

I thought that it would be fun to throw a few “2014 Picture Post a Day Mission” Fun Fact stats at you...let you know how successful (or not) I was.

1. Overall, I successfully posted 246/365 days of the year…67% success rate.

2. The month of July was a worst record. Out of 31 days, I missed 27…I blame the sunshine and vacation days!

3. That being said, the month of January was the best record with 30/31 days posted….fresh out of the gate, what do you expect?

4. 74 out of the 246 posts (30%) were of our fur babies...yup...I love our fur babies and am puppy proud!

5. 27 out of the 246 (11%) were of me holding alcoholic beverages...I like my vino! Cheers!

6. 22 out of the 246 (8%) were of food...I LOVE food...though sadly not all food loves me :(

And right there goes to show the priorities in my life ;)

After this last year of blogging, I can totally appreciate how professional bloggers make this a full time job. It is A LOT OF WORK! You will notice that I didn’t blabber as much as normal with my posts…a quick blurb, a picture upload and call it done.  To stay witty, sharp, opinionated, informative EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR… I’m exhausted just thinking of it!

To those of you that checked in throughout my year to see my picture mission: Thank You! I can't wait to share this next year with you!

I tuned in and gave it a watch as there was nothing else on tv at the time.

We went to a local Brazilian restraunt for lunch, called Pampa, and it was such an amazing gastronomical experience!

It's An Office Thing

This is the final "Ta-Da"!!! Of my poof experiment the other day for the Christmas door decorating contest at work. 

As a first attempt, I think my poof turned out pretty snazzy!!

My office is actually in an un-funded patient room, so I pulled off the curtains that were tucked aside and used the hooks to bedazzle some more.

The Little Tree That Won't

Oh the Light Saga of 2014...

Well not really but you get to hear the story anyways. 

I realized that I didn't have enough lights to decorate this little tree, so after work yesterday, I stopped to buy two new strands. 

I got home, played with some pups and then decided to start decorating. Using some forthought, I took the first strand out and plugged them in to make sure they worked.

All good. 

So I start wrapping, eyeing all the placement. Perfect!

I then plugged the second strand into the first, wrapped a few more times...plugged them in...second strand doesn't work :(

All verclempt, I decided to load up the dogs and whip over to Home Depot to buy new ones. 

Wam bam...in and out and off home again to continue decorating the tree. 

Learning from earlier: first test them!

The first stand works...second one doesn't!!

Seriously!! Twice in a day and from two different stores!

Needless to say, I have given up for today!

I'm switching the two rooms up this year. The last few years our family room has been decorated in the traditional Christmas colors and the living room has been matchy-matchy blues and silver. 

I have really missed having our family tree up though, so this year I switched them around. 

It's a nice change I think!

December?  Then they become Christmas lights!

We only have the back "party lights" on for now, so that we can enjoy them whist in the hot tub. 

The rest of the house wont be lit up for another couple weeks...it is a bit early for that ;)

Jury Is Out On Best Ever

I tried a new recipe for dinner that was a recommendation from one of the clinical educators at work. 

Better Than a Take Out Fried Rice from this site.

As a good Ukrainian woman, I made enough to feed the block (tonnes of leftovers). 

And it was...? Well it was ok. 

As a main dish I probably won't make it again. But as a side with some grilled chicken, it may be a better option.
