A Bridal Show kinda Day

I got engaged this summer. To a wonderful man that I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with.  When we got engaged, I was thrilled and so excited to start this next chapter of life with him. I have found my unicorn! The man who takes all my good with my bad.  And TRUST me, I know that there is some bad ;) A great man who loves me for ME! It was the greatest day of my life. Well, to be honest, I have to say probably the second greatest day of my life cuz I seem to think that the day we say “I do forever” will be the greatest day!

I said him the other day: Every other day, I want to elope. Oh! To elope. But I just can’t. He asked why? I said: Because of that little girl inside of me that just has to have this day! To be a princess and say I do to my Prince Charming!
So once the good news was spread to family and friends, and once it had set in that “OMG I'm GETTING MARRIED!!” ,  I started to think of all the crafty things that I can do and I STILL get to dress all up purdy and be princess for a day! Oh, the crafting potential!
So, not gonna lie, I'm kinda in my glory. The wheels are a-turning. Part of me just wants to just glaze over the “big” things and get to the fun things! Centerpieces and invitations! Decorations and dresses!
Originally I had all these crazy ideas: I’d hand craft all my own invitations. I would make all my own centerpieces. I will craft the programs and place cards...as I said, I'm IN MY GLORY.
Of course, then I walked through those magical doors at Michaels and discovered all the wicked wedding stuff they have there! I have backed off a bit on some of my crafting ideas, especially when I discovered the pre-made invites that are all in a box. (Just type in the info and fire them through your printer.) A BIT less time consuming, still budget friendly and it will still give me a bit of a crafting fix!
But, let’s get something straight right here and now: I still plan on doing quite a bit DIY wedding decorating!
Centerpieces, yup. Guest book, yup. “Stuff” for the little people in our wedding party (ring bearers and flower girls), yup. Place cards of some variety, yup. I'm hoping to be able to do all that, and maybe a bit more ;)
So here are a few sneak peeks into my inspiration to what direction my day is headed in....
Thank you to “The Knot” for all the wonderful inspiration! Great website for those gals soon to be married!
Colors: Obviously green and chocolate brown. I don’t like the “pea” green description, but as the lil sis says: it is pea green.
Half traditional, half hippie! Hopefully it all comes together as I am starting to envision it in my head~!
So the other day I rallied “my girls” (my older sister is my matron of honour, my little sis and bestest childhood friend are my bridesmaids) and we went off to a bridal show. It was a good time and we were able to narrow down a few things, in particular, attire. Also defiantly got my passion going for what kind of purdy dress I will wear on my day!
It was a fun day.  Also makes me appreciate that I still have just shy of a year to plan! SO much to figure out.
Cheers!
PS I could care less about food, but I hear that that is the thing people remember the most...Can’t say that about myself and the weddings I attend. For me, it’s all about the part-ay! (How was the dance...the vibe. The inhibited feeling of friends and family out on the dance floor, celebrating love with song and dance!) O! And all the purdy handmade crafting ;) What do you think?
