Spring!

I offered to hostess Easter this year, and I have to admit: the keener in me was pretty excited! It's not the actual “cooking” and “hostessing” part that I was so excited for…it was the decorating and the setting of table. :) Well I'll be honest: the cooking part is fun too (though I had never attempted to cook such a large turkey-bird before). Good thing ma was around to help with that call! The last three I have done were about half the size and a bit overcooked...this one went way better!

I started a couple weeks ago putting some of my spring decorations up around the house (aka chochkies…didn’t think I would be such a chockie person, but I have to say, I enjoy my seasonal ones!).

Puppy and I also hit up the craft room to knock out some dinner table purdies. Of course it would make this post that much better if I had actually remembered to take “before” pictures, but alas, the wine was too wonderful the day I started and I forgot. Plus the afters are way better ;) Needless to say, the pieces I found at Value Village were not all that fancy to begin with, pretty tacky actually, so you are not missing too much. I also picked up a few clear vases.

I went with a purple/lime-y green/splashes of random pastel color palette, and I have to think that it all came together really well. I painted the dishes with Martha Stewart "paint-anything" pastel paints (my words, not hers lol) and used alcohol ink on the vase to make it a pretty purple.

And my table place cards...  :) They turned out so good!! I got the idea from Pinterest, and fell in love with the idea, so here is my take on them.

The eggs were a bulk pack that I bought at the Dollar Store which I painted up in pretty pastels. I broke out my Sizzix to make the banner name tag pieces and added some bling and sparkle to make them look purdy.

Cheers!
