Graduate

(This may be premature posting that as the title, as I am not sure yet if we passed.)

This last month, we have been enrolled in puppy class. Tonight is the last class, and to stick with the norm, it is raining..and I mean it's really pissin down. We have yet to have good weather for puppy class, and if class isn’t cancelled today, then it wont be very much fun for us.

The puppies don’t seem to mind though.

The class has been a lot of fun overall though...minus the weather. I decided to sign up for it mostly to get me out of the house, but also to give Cassius some socialization skills. I know he LOVES it. It also helps me to gain some knowledge and skills to be able to control my little 150 pound doggie (potentially 150 pounds ;).

What have we learned so far? Recalls, when I say his name. Sit/Stay. Healing through walks. Lay. Lots of puppy play time. 

The only thing that hasn’t been so good is the job thing. Working 12 hour shifts doesn’t allow so much time to work with him, plus I’ve been so busy with life lately. We are getting there though. I never had any expectation that we would nail down all the things we have learned in class in the one month we were in it. It’s a lot of things to learn, and as I mentioned, time isn’t always on my hands.

But I have the resources now, and we can continue learning at our own pace.

I'm still deciding whether or not to take the next round of classes come September…decisions decisions.

UPDATE: We got rained out the other night. So our official last class was on Friday...we passed! Puppy had a hoot and the humans were actually treated with good weather!
