Day Six: Smells Delish Pot Pourri

Day Six of Pinterest Shares: Smells Delish

Ok....I so had to re-post this one in my Seven Days of Pinterest Shares, as its probably one of my favorites, with the hilarity of the "oops" to go along with it.

It is a (Christmas-y) stove top air freshener. This recipe turns out exactly as the title says...it smells delicious when you get it on the stove top.

Ingredients:
one whole orange or just the orange peel
1/2 cup cranberries
1 Tbsp. whole cloves
3 sticks of cinnamon or a small handful of small pieces of cinnamon
a bit of grated nutmeg if desired

Quarter the orange, throw all the ingredients all in a pot. Fill er with water and put it on the stove on low. Keep the water level up, as in don’t let it all to evaporate.

I cannot stress this part enough: DO. NOT. LET. THE. POT. RUN. DRY!

If you do so, may the force be with you when it comes to trying to save your pot. Not. Ever. Happening.

I made this a couple Christmases ago, and I may have had a few beverages. I maybe forgot to keep an eye on the water level...

I sure gave it a She-ra Princess of Power effort to save my wee pot...probably sat there trying to get it clean for a good two weeks. Eventually, I admitted defeat and ended up having to throw the pot out.

The potpourri doesn't look the greatest come the end of the night but (if you keep the water level up...) it will last for a couple of weeks.

Cheers!
