Time To Get Back on Track

I knew that my blog-a-day mission would fall apart a bit come summer….I just didn’t think it would so badly!

Here it is, halfway through the summer already, and I have barley posted any of my adventures!(though, to be honest, I haven’t been up to too much. BUT! when I have, they sure have been great adventures!)

I am going to do a mass picture-post of the last few weeks. Being as its summer, the last thing that I want to be doing is spending it inside, so there are no crafty show-and-tells, so expect to see some fur-baby pictures along the way….just sayin!

Totally counting this one!

The greatest purchase this summer: Dremmel for Dane nails

So. Story time.

I had mentioned here that my dad has spent the last year as President of the Elks of Canada. My parents have spent the last 12 months, travelling from one coast of Canada to the other, and so many stops in between. They had an amazing time, met so many members of the organization and were welcomed into the homes and lives of many gracious people.

As a fundraiser for the association, the members here in Alberta started a drive to raise money. The drive meaning the loss of my dads beard. Their goal was to raise $5000 over the course of dads time as president. If they reached this goal, he agreed to shave his beard.

And? If the members raised $10000, he would shave his head as well.

To put this in perspective: I am 31 years old and have never seen my dad without a beard. My parents have been together since they were 16 and dad grew his beard at 18.

I have now seen my dad without a beard. And boy did I cry!

It was all for a great cause though, as they raised over 11 grand!! And it is only hair and will grow back.

But I barely recognize him now!

Before! (He had been growing it out for the big shave)
After!
The wonderful Scot that piped in the head table
Many more pictures were taken at convention and it was a wonderful time! Sch a wonderful group of people, all gathering together for the betterment of community.

Home again and time for some "Professional" photos of the fur-babies!

Cheers!
