Mine vs “The” Card Company

Last year was when I really got gung-ho into arts n crafts. Everyone in my life got homemade cards from me. Now don’t get me wrong, I have boycotted Hallmark for most of my life. Making construction paper cards for my family for forever! I mean, why spend 5 or 6 bucks on a card that someone will look at once and tuck away (more likely throw away)?? I find that making them myself creates a little more personal touch to it. And ya, I may spend a few bucks on supplies for it, but I think that the receiver appreciates it for longer than 5 minutes.

And when it comes to it: ITS ALL ABOUT ME!! Jk ;) The fun I have in making each one a little personalized makes me smile. Gluing on doodads and fun sparkly stickers...heavenly!
So here are a few cards that I made for the “little people” in my life.
My nieces 1st birthday:

My nephews 5th birthday:

...and the second nephews (and god son) 3rd birthday card:

I really like making fun little things for the kids! You can be a little more whimsical with the little ones, and play with all the fun bugs and flowers and critters! Too cute!
What do you think? Are you a card keeper? Do you appreciate homemade cards more than the store bought ones?

Cheers!
