Centerpieces...another key piece of wedding decor.
Of course, there was no doubt...this was going to be another handmade craft by me.
I found my inspiration on The Knot, and since most of our wedding decor was silver, off to Ikea Weebo and I went, where we happily purchased 16 silver lanterns.
I had originally wanted to do half of the tables with the lanterns and the other half, keeping simple, with a clear glass hurricane and an ivory pillar candle. But alas, I procrastinated too long and by the time I went to buy the hurricanes, the store had changed the shape that they were supplying and I just didn’t like the new ones as much...well, er...at all!
So alas, all the tables looked the same.
I went off to Michaels an bought a shwack of ivory flowers and came home and jazzed them up a bit.
A little Distress ink around the edges to give them a bit more dimension and some green bling on some of the petals (cuz EVERYTHING needs a bit o bling).
The trickiest part was getting them into the lantern without smooshing them in there, but I managed to do it. I put a few random pieces of hydrangea that I deconstructed from a huge bundle, just to incorporate a bit more of the green in our decor.
Simple yet classy. Elegant yet handcrafted. I think I managed to get them just right.
Cheers!
