Shoulda Had A Camera

I had one of those moments. And I wish that I had taken a picture before I started on damage control.

So remember a few posts back, Smells Delish, with my potpourri?

Well, let me tell you, last weekend the wonderful, scentual, festivus aroma of my potpourri kind of…ummm…may have been accidently left on.

Heed the instructions on the recipe: DO NOT LET ALL WATER EVAPORATE!

I had turned the pot on low while I was at home puttering, and without remembering that it was on, left without turning it off. Luckily, I did not burn the house down, but when I walked in oh…I dunno…maybe 6 hours later, the smell was so horrific I thought that I had!

The pot had gone completely dry and I would have had no clue what was in it, had I not been the one to make it.

Everything had burned to a crisp! Black, charred, nasty!

And my pot! Don’t even get me going on that! I have had it soaking for the last week, with baking soda, and I bought some steel wool the other day. I just haven’t brought myself to start scrubbing. I will have to do some serious research into how-to’s to see if I can salvage my poor little pot!

At this point, it doesn’t look too promising L

Not good…not good at all. Wish me luck and if you have any tips for me to clean that damn thing, please share!

Cheers!
