The Whole Ball of Yarn

So as I mentioned, a lot of my Christmas crafting will be gifts for my peeps, but I found one that I’m keeping ALL FOR MYSELF ;) And so I can share this one that I have just finished.

I got the idea off Pinterest (of course) and it was such a simple idea, I had to give the “why didn’t I think of that?” question to myself.

It turns out that it is quite a fancy look.

Jazzed up wine Bottles. (I also used a beer bottle to give a varying height to the look.)

Find a wonderful ball of yarn and, starting at the bottom of the bottle, put a small dab of glue from your trusty glue gun. And then start wrapping your bottle.

It’s a bit time consuming (thanks to my Weebo for getting my craft room TV up and running…that helps with the tediousness of the job) but the finished look is wicked!

I found that every ten wraps or so along the way, if you put a small dab of glue, it prevents the yarn from slipping and unraveling.

My mom had some pine cone’s kicking around that I used along the top of the bottle to hide the mess I made with the glue gun (tip: wine + 1 am crafting = plan B ) but  the more I look at it, the better I like it.

Cheers!
