My Kind of Club

I joined a club…the perfect-est kind of club for me.

I researched…planned….plotted…crunched numbers to make sure it was affordable…

I joined a wine club.

And I LOVE it! Cuz I really like wine ;)

There is nothing like waiting anxiously each month for the email with the subject line: Your Wine is on its Way! And then waiting for my FedEx delivery notification…tracking it….a happy face when I come home to a case of wine!

Part of the reason I wanted to join a wine club is that I am predictable. I know what I like (Merlot) and I go for the same bottle just about all the time (a Chilean Merlot: Santa Rita). I wanted to broaden my horizons and try something that I normally wouldn’t go for…or have never heard of. Get to know white wines a bit more.

The club I joined is Wine Collective, and it ships from Calgary AB. I get four bottles a month, with a lil of this, a lil of that. For Christmas they even sent a bottle of Champagne which I thought was the best!

Whites…reds….blends…dry, sweet.

I would say that out of the 24 bottles I have gotten so far there were only two that I would say no to again.

Unfortunately, I have been a slacker student in Wine Clubbin'. They send great comment cards with each bottle, explaining the winery it hails from, the flavors, the blend, the aroma, and food parings. On the back of the card, you can make notes to yourself, and rate it for future reference.

I have failed at this.

But this month’s cards are located right beside the wine glasses, so it is my mission to be a better student.

At least rate it on a 1-10 for myself ;)
