Mission: Curb Appeal

I mentioned that we are flipping our focus a bit to work on curb appeal this year. The back yard is pretty thrashed thanks to puppy and his +100 pound "Chicken Runs" and we have a ways to go before we can hope to make our backyard look beauty-ful. So why not make the front yard look like a million bucks?

We made a wee step that direction last summer when I asked hubby to pull up (yet another) dead shrub in the front yard.

Side note: all these shrubs we have been pulling out? They were dead or mostly dead, when we bought our house. My finger isn't Kermit The Frog green but its not that pathetic either!).

So, mission curb appeal...said shrub was ripped out. Last week I put out some pretty pots full of flowers…the next step? Fix the tree surround. (I don’t know what else to call it, so I’m gunna go with that description for now.)

We have a lovely (some type) of tree on the front lawn that, like most of the landscaping, has been completely over run with grass.

Second Side Note: As per the last few postings' "trend", Weebo had already started destroying before I got my "before" picture. I called a quick "HALTO-STOPO!! I NEED MY PIC!"

So today’s mission? Redo!

Pull up rocks, landscaping fabric, and fug-ly edging. Top up the dirt, relay the fabric and put the rocks back in. Assemble and place new edging (pretty stuff too!)

We got most of it done after work yesterday. I will post the final ta-da picture when we get it all done!

Cheers!
