That’s how the fairy tales end the story, but I know that this is where ours really gets going.
We did it! We are officially husband and wife….till death do us part! No longer living in sin ;). The day was everything we dreamed it would be and then some! Mother Nature pulled out a fantastic Indian summer for us, and our beautiful out-door garden ceremony blew minds! My groom looked amazing as I cried, hiccuped and vibrated with nerves all the way down the isle. Good thing my dad had a good lock on me or I would have stumbled and fallen down with no grace!
When we said our vows, it literally took my breath away and though I was sure it would be Weebo choking up through them, it was myself who had to take (more than) a few deep breaths to get them out. The words that we said to each other were exactly what we wanted to say, in a non-traditional way, which came right from the heart.
We took a fantastic week honeymoon in the mountains, where we spent our first holiday together as husband and wife. It was wonderful to get away, to just spend time alone, with no stresses. The first time in a while where we truly got to relax. Our place in Jasper was unbelievable, with a view to die for. Room service, champagne and chocolate covered strawberries…does life get any better??
We then took the scenic tour to Canmore, where we spent 4 glorious nights in a beautiful condo. We actually made it out of the room this time ;) Spent a day out in Banff , where we took the gondola up the mountain for some amazing scenery and then off to the hot springs to bubble away for a while.
But life and the mess at home made us have to face reality and alas, all good things must come to an end. So we drove home after the amazing getaway and got to have even more fun…shopping!
Our friends and family spoiled us rotten with wedding gifts and we had a fair sized wish list of things we were waiting to buy after the wedding. So off we went and shopped our hearts out, buying the needs (and wants) for our wonderful home!
So to my new husband: thank you. Thank you for making all my dreams come true and making me that happiest woman in the world to call you their wife. I cannot wait for this life we have started, to see what kind of adventures will be around the corner.
Thank you for today, for tomorrow and for happily ever after!
