How Much Is Too Much?

At least when it comes to DIY?

This is the question I pose to myself when thinking of all the crafty-goodness I can jam into wedding décor.

I have this crazy idea, if I can keep the price down, that I would make our own favor boxes. I found this adorable template and figured out how to mass produce them (thanks roommate Meemaw for offering to help). The only issue I have now is deciding on the paper.

Our wedding colors are green and brown. And just to be different, the green is kind of a funky shade, not quite pea green but as the sister described it as such, it seems to be the closest comparison I can come up with. I have since been to all the craft stores in the general vicinity, looking for said “pea green” card stock and can’t seem to find the shade I want, where its not going to cost $1.00 per sheet.

It is a mission that I’m not quite ready to give up on, as I can see the finished result looking quite charming. But if I can’t keep it budget friendly, we may be moving on to plan B…which I don’t have yet.

As for other DIY projects, well I am currently working on our guest book. My older sister purged her craft supplies and passed along to me a small sized scrapbook. It was all covered in mint green fabric and looked cute…but the Christmas tree in the bottom corner was just not going to cut it for a wedding guest book. Plus, mint green is not really the color choice ;)

So I was out at Fabricland the other day and found THE PERFECT shade of green fabric. Who cares that they were napkins…need I remind you what I covered our headboard with?

I brought my fantastic napkins home and promptly went to work ripping them apart and covering my new altered masterpiece! So far it looks really good, just trying to keep it classy and not too scrap-booky.

Keep you posted!

Cheers!
